Coast to Coast

Hi. My name is Mark Dowle and I’m doing the Coast to Coast this coming February and have decided it’s an excellent opportunity to raise a bit of money for an organisation that is close to my heart. The International Nepal Fellowship (INF) works with the poor and marginalised people of Nepal.

My wife Jo and I have been involved with INF for the last ten years, we served on the ground in Nepal for two years and more recently have been involved with the INF New Zealand board. Over those 10 years I’ve seen first-hand some of the amazing work that INF is doing. So help support INF by supporting me as a I compete in the 2021 Coast to Coast https://www.coasttocoast.co.nz/ All money raised will go towards Green Pastures Hospital, where Jo and I worked during our two years in Nepal.

The medical work of INF is serving more than 50,000 people yearly with treatment, operations, general healthcare, community services and medical camps. For over 65 years Green Pastures Hospital (GPH) in Pokhara has been providing treatment and care for people living with leprosy. The work at GPH also includes treatment and rehabilitation for people living with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities and extends to reconstructive surgery, palliative care and specialist ear care.

GPH serves about 18,000 patients and remains the biggest leprosy and rehabilitation hospital in Nepal’s Western Regions. Having 40 beds [20 for leprosy patients and 20 for patients with other forms of disability] it remains the hub for referrals from other INF centres, as well as hospitals and local partner organisations across western Nepal.

f you would like to support me on this event to raise money for Green Pastures Hospital then please donate here.
