Tansen Hospital — Their medical elective programme offers a 6‑week minimum placement. The United Mission Hospital Tansen (UMHT) is located in Tansen, the district headquarters and commercial centre of Palpa District. Tansen is a pleasant town built on the side of Shrinagar hill and lies in the middle hills of Nepal. The medical work of the hospital comprises various paramedical departments, laboratory, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dental, anaesthesia, outpatient department and pharmacy. There are the following wards—surgical ward, maternity ward, burns unit, orthopedic ward, paediatric ward, and three main operating wards

Green Pastures Hospital – Green Pastures Hospital in Pokhara was opened in 1957 as a leprosy hospital. It has since broadened its scope and now supports people with all kinds of disabilities.

The hospital provides both in-patient and out-patient leprosy services, reconstructive surgery, nursing care, laboratory services, counselling, and health education. It also offers rehabilitation services—including orthopaedic appliances, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy—for both in-patients and out-patients.

Green Pastures has beds for patients with leprosy and other disabilities, as well as those requiring palliative care—many of whom are too poor to afford treatment.

Would you like to help people with disabilities and other marginalised groups develop new agriculture-based income?

Is God calling you to serve in Nepal using your skills to serve the disadvantaged?

INF Nepal needs an expatriate Christian with Agriculture Developments skills and also one with Marketing Skills and one with product development skills.  All three would be involved to train staff in their ability

• to capacity build the farming skills of clients
• to assess markets and develop new products (both agricultural and craft products)
• marketing farm produce and developing new markets and skills for clients and their families

You need to have a heart for poor and marginalised people and be able to transfer ideas and skills to others, someone who can inspire others and start new projects as they see opportunities to use new skills and products.

Experience of working in another culture would be an advantage.

In order to get a good grasp of the local context the Adviser will need to commit to at least two years in the post after Nepali language learning.

Good Nepali language skills are needed, and an initial commitment of two years after Nepali language training is required. The postholder would be advising across INF Nepal’s programmes.

Candidates must be proficient in the English language. Training in the Nepali language is provided for expatriate workers, differing in length depending on the duration of their assignments.

INF is unable to pay salaries to expatriate workers in Nepal. Expatriates in INF are seconded by agencies in home countries who help them find their funding.

INF is looking for an expatriate Christian Anaesthetist to help develop the provision of our healthcare services. Examples of some of the work you may perform are:

• To provide anaesthesia for adult and paediatric patients undergoing ear surgery at the Ear Centre, as well as some other ENT, head and neck or plastic procedures.
• To take ake an active role in the training of local staff and visiting professionals and will contribute to both the audit and service development of the Ear Centre.
• To provide anaesthesia to other specialities as required.
